David W. Smith
David W. Smith has been a director of Capella Education Company since 1998. From 2000 until his retirement in 2003, Smith was chief executive officer of NCS Pearson, Inc. He is a member of the boards of directors of Plato Learning Inc. and Scientific Learning Corporation, both of which are NASDAQ-listed companies. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts from Southern Illinois University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
